Live Classroom Setup Wizard
The Live Classroom Setup Wizard, located on the TAFE VC Live Classroom login page (liveclassroom.tafevc.com.au), is a tool to help you prepare your computer for using Live Classroom. It should be run well in advance of your Live Classroom session to enable you to correct any problems that arise.
The Setup Wizard automatically checks your computer to ensure that it has the necessary components to run Live Classroom. Where it detects missing components it recommends ways to fix these problems. If you experience problems running the Wizard or need further help please refer to the requirements below, the Horizon Wimba Support Centre or contact the Help Desk.

Port Requirements
Participant Requirements
Live Classroom can be accessed through a direct connection or web proxy, through Port 80/tcp.
Features of Live Classroom will upgrade to use more efficient transport methods, when possible. In these instances, the user will seamlessly upgrade by trying multiple alternate/raw ports for connectivity.
For TCP, and alternate HTTP: 5998, 443 and port 5190.
For UDP: port 5998, 33434, 5190, and 16384.
For live presentations, Participants use QuickTime or RealMedia*.
*Please note that for presentations using QuickTime or RealMedia, the port used depends on the transport settings specified in a participant's Player. Also note that some firewalls are not compatible with RealMedia's tunneling mechanism.
Presenter Requirements
The port requirements for Presenters are the same as the requirements for Participants.
For Presentations Using RealMedia:
When using RealProducer, Port 7074/tcp must be open.
System Administrators may also want to consider opening Port 7079/tcp1 and Port 7071/tcp2.
Port 7079 allows for monitoring of RealServer activity (e.g., # of users connecting to the RealServer).
Port 7071 is required for the web interface to the RealServer administrative tools.
Sun Java Runtime Environment (JRE)
Live Classroom is a Java application and requires a Sun Java Runtime Environment. Java can be downloaded from www.java.com. Note that you will need administrator rights to your computer to install Java.
Quicktime
Live Classroom archives sessions in a Quicktime format. Quicktime can be downloaded from www.apple.com/quicktime/download.
Pop-up blockers disabled
Many computers have pop-up blockers that stop a website from opening up a new web browser window. Pop-up blockers may be applications (eg. NoAdware, Pop-Up Sentry) or built into web browsers (eg. Firefox), tool bars (eg. Yahoo, Google) or third-party applications (eg. Norton Security). For further information on disabling pop-up blockers refer to the Horizon Wimba Support Centre.
