Horizon Wimba Voice Tools are a suite of voice tools, combining real-time (synchronous) vocal interaction with prerecorded (asynchronous) vocal content.
All tools are fully and seamlessly integrated into the familiar WebCT Vista environment through the Horizon Wimba PowerLink.
Horizon Wimba Voice Direct
A real-time voice conferencing tool for group or peer-to-peer communication. Voice Direct enables students and teachers to fully engage in real-time, online, vocal communication, which can be recorded and archived for future references as required. Instructors can conduct lectures, conferences, discussions and debates, and keep virtual office hours for one-to-one conversations with students.
Horizon Wimba Voice Boards
A vocal communications tool that facilitates and promotes dialogue, allowing students to listen to, record, and post voice messages in a threaded message board format. Voice Boards can be utilized for teacher led general discussion forums, student led self-help groups, oral exercises and assessments. Threads can be maintained according to subject matter, filters applied to restrict student access, and content archived for future reference.
Horizon Wimba Voice Authoring
A small recorder and player that can
be pasted into any web page,
enabling teachers to easily add and edit
voice annotations and insert them into their
WebCT courses. The tool can be utilized to verbally explain math
formulas, discuss complex diagrams and models etc, or simply highlight
specific items on
a web page.
