About
TAFE VC
What
is the TAFE VC?
The
TAFEVC is a Government service that provides Victorian Registered Training
Organisations (RTOs) with a learning management system for the delivery
of e-learning.
RTOs are allocated a secure (password protected) site within the TAFEVC.
Teachers can develop their own courses to deliver to your students or
request a copy of a ready made resource from the Online Courseware Catalogue
(resources catalogue), which can be modified for your own purposes.
Students can look
through the TAFE Online Courses Catalogue (public catalogue) to review
the e-learning courses on offer and then enrol online.
The TAFEVC has
4 basic components
- An information
portal containing a range of information and links related to e-learning
and the VET sector.
- A Server containing
a Learning Management System (WebCT) for Education Providers to deliver
their courses.
- An Online Courseware
catalogue containing e-learning resources for Education Providers
to copy and modify.
- We provide a
24 hour help desk and Administrative Support (including training)
plus a access to a range of Professional Development resources.
Email: help@tafevc.com.au.
Phone: 1800 896 122 (national toll-free number).
How Safe
is the TAFE VC?
When getting your information to/from the TAFE VC server - we use a
secure socket layer. This creates a secure (encrypted) communication
channel between the client and server.
Once your information
is on the TAFE VC server, the information is held behind firewalls.
These prevent access from unauthorised sources.
Access to your information is password protected which means that if
no one knows your password, no one other than yourself will be able
to access your information. If you lose your password, an entirely new
password will be created, as it is not retrievable.
