The Button
Bar - Navigation Panel
Let's
have a look at how the Button Bar can help you through the course
notes.
The most important
feature of the Button Bar is the Navigation Panel (pictured right).
This panel
has a number of buttons that allow you to navigate through the course
notes |
 |
Home:
This button takes you back to the unit/module homepage. You can select
this if you wish to go to another section in your unit/module (such as
the communications centre) or if you wish to go back to the myTAFE VC
page to select a different unit/module.
Content: By selecting this button you can go directly
to the Course Content page. The Course Content page lists by title, all
the content pages of your course. The content pages make up the Content
Listing or Content path. You can open any content page directly by clicking
on its title in the Content Path. In most cases however, you need only
to click on the first title. The `pg fwd' button will then allow you to
progress through the content pages in the order your teacher prefers.
Retrace: Using this button you can return to all the
pages previously viewed in the session. You can retrace your path all
the way back to where you first entered the course content.
Refresh: This button reloads the content page into the
content frame of the window. This is very useful if you need to renew
the page after visiting a subsection of the page or having accessed one
of the button bar tools. It is similar to the `Reload' button on your
browser.
Page back (pg
back): If the materials you are viewing follow the Content Path
the `pg back' button will return you to the last page you viewed.
Some course materials
however are designed to use a combination of their own internal html links
in addition to that of the Content Path.
If you are not returned
to a page you have previously viewed, using the `pg back' button,
try using the `Back' button on your browser instead.
Page forward (pg fwd): This takes you to the next
page in the content path. You will use this button to progress through
your materials in most cases.
