ICT Skills for Teachers (21335VIC)

Information and Communications Technology (ICT) are the key tools for future communication, learning, business and commerce. This unit deals with the skills and knowledge required to apply ICT technologies to enhance teaching and learning practices in addition to enhancing professional growth and productivity. ICT tools include the use of personal computers, peripheral devices, software and internet applications.

This accredited course consists of one module - Applications for Teaching ICT, which has been divided into:

Using Technology

  • working with different applications - Word, PowerPoint, graphics programs and different imaging devices, like scanners and digital cameras, to produce teaching resources.

Managing & Communicating Online

  • using an online delivery platform (WebCT) to customise an online course for delivery, to communicate with and manage students online.

Incorporating ICT

  • searching for and evaluating online resources and considering some of the issues involved in planning your teaching resources and delivery options.
